I don’t care what the idiots in the 0 administration say, this man did NOT “Serve his country honorably”.He should have to apologize to each of the parents of soldiers that died trying to save a deserter. Then he can just rot in prison.

McCain, granted it was under duress, broke the Code of Conduct, and UCMJ laws of the day, by speaking out against the U.S.. I long admired him for what he endured, despite that lone “failure”. I didn’t agree with his “politics”, but still respected him.

His turning on Bergdahl now, after also calling for his return, for years, and his support of “W” for years, is simply one more sad disappointment. Go home, John, it’s time.

Do the ultra conservatives on this site, in their absolute hatred of our current president, ever even think that our military would have never even tried to get this man back if they had considered him a deserter? Further do they ever even consider that he be allowed to tell his side of the story? Evidently, the military is far more even handed than our ultra conservatives here are!

Yes, he might actually be a deserter and deserve to spend the rest of his life in a federal prison, but that is NOT to be decided by such people on sites such as this one, Either those that think he was indeed a deserter, nor by those that do not think he was a deserter. Shall we not allow our military justice to do its job?

Besides which, if he really were a deserter, then why on earth would he ever leave the Taliban and even try to comehome!! Such hypocrisy as exhibited by some on this site is just simply totally amazing!!

Throw a kid into a war zone and he freaks out, that is not a surprising event.

so, this soldier was a pow and everyone wanted him back. when he is returned via a prisoner exchange, they paint him as a deserter. even though he attempted escape twice. even though prisoner exchanges have been done with the enemy since 1776.

^Was that the same sergeant I saw interviewed who, yes, said Burgdahl deserted, but also had a longer beard than the Burgdahl dad, and said his beard was merely because after 9 years in the military, he didn’t feel like shaving anymore, he wasn’t suddenly “Taliban”. BTW, my son had a bear while in the military while overseas, but I can’t detail where, or why, he was there. Which is why many in Congress on the right, need to learn to keep THEIR mouths SHUT!!

“What’s so great about this is that it has now become fashionable again to criticize the military, so we no longer have to waste money on Veterans and their Affairs”. -————————————————————-Glad you’ve finally seen 0’s plan to distract from the VA fiasco and the cover-up afterwards, Mr NeoLibMan.Only problem with your boys plan is that this has become an even worse outrage to the American people.Don’t worry tho, we’ll remember all the horrendous actions come November.

dtroutma: When I hit SUBMIT, and find a dumb typo, I copy it, then DELETE it, Paste it anew, make the correction, then SUBMIT again. A bit easier this way, for me anyway.
