That’s actually a great turn of events. A TV show, when it becomes a parody of itself, is said to have “Jumped the Shark.” It goes back to an episode of “Happy Days” when Fonzie jumps over a shark tank, and the series is never the same after that. So in this case we have a shark jumping the person, so the shark is complaining about the quality of the show going downhill. The reference to Marion is nice, but the shark needs to be wearing a leather jacket for maximum effect.

I think Happy Days should be proud of itself for inspiring a new phrase. However, “Jump the Shark” has been around for quite a while, so I thought more people would know it.

Speaking of sharks, a news article said that a man was killed by juvenile great white sharks off the coast of Florida. Early reports say the sharks mistook the man for a member of the Jets…

http://www.tvguide.com/jumptheshark/ This is a shell of what the original jumptheshark.com used to be since tv guide took it over. But it may still have some jump the shrak left in it.
