“Your number is 8 million. Now serving number 4. Number 4? Number 4? It’s your turn, number 4…..”

Pitiful. Unconscionable. Pay people so little they need food stamps, send them around the world with no mission other than to stay alive, and then ignore them when they return.

And, to top it off, start a private vigilante army (Blackwater) with no rules, no accountability, and pay those people as much in one month as you pay your active duty military personnel in a year.

A national embarrassment. Heads should start rolling any minute now. Mr. Obama, now is the time to show your (and our) displeasure. Please do not disappoint once again.

Will you please get off your party horse and look at all the news and not just what feeds your GOP hating mantra?-The problem with the VA has been going on for decades and has been progressively getting worse. Both parties are to blame, just like both parties are to blame for most all of what is going wrong in America.-All you party people out there, face it, America has become a commode with two flush handles. One on the left, one on the right. Doesn’t matter which lever gets pulled, we’re still getting flushed. The only variable might be the speed of the swirl.

Universal government health care. Another example of why we shouldn’t want it.

I am a Vietnam era vet – Air Force. Problems with the VA medical have been going on for thirty years or more.

The problem is this: If you set up a government agency, hire people to work in the agency, allow them to form a union and bargain for higher pay for doing nothing, and then never make them fully accountable for actually doing the job – to the point of sending them to jail for fraud – then you will have these problems.

One of my assignments back in 1970, I was in AFLC (Air Force Logistics Command) in Hill AFB, Utah. The vast, vast majority of the workers were unionized civilians. I saw, again and again and again, these ‘workers’ spending less than 10% of their time actually doing their job and the rest of their time either standing around holding a coffee cup or planning and writing how much they needed five more employees to work under them to do the job … so they could be promoted to a manager position!

And, get this, the approvals to hire more people came from other civilians in AFLC. No wonder the federal government bureaucracy is such a mess now.

I have dozens of stories of ‘civil servant’ abuse in government.

And, here we go again in the VA.

We must, must, MUST get rid of unions in government sectors and make every employee accountable for their job. If we don’t, we will continue to have these problems.

Proof Positive that government controlled healthcare (or anything run by bureaucrats) has built-in prevention of serving the patients first in priority. -Solution:Repeal Obamacare. Put all Americans, civilians and veterans, into the private healthcare system. Give federal vouchers to the needy leave treatment up to the patients and their choices of doctors and providers.

They prefer to throw stones. Better press coverage for them. It is one of the most-used pages from the Republican hand-book: just keep throwing, keep up the attack on your opposite, make the voters think he is to blame. Throw, throw, keep throwing, keep him/her on the defensive and paralyze him/her. Worked against Clinton’s 2nd term, and against Kerry’s bid!
