I can remember being about Alix’s age and wanting my Great-Grandma to live to be 1,000. And while I sorta knew that was never going to happen, I also had no clear idea of what the situation for her would have been if I had some how gotten what I so much desired at that time. She made it to 103, passing on while I was in High School.

You think you’re getting old, until you turn 60 and start working with someone 20 years older… With that said this sure looks like foreshadowing to me…

I think I am old at 65 but my dad just turned 90 and is still going strong so maybe I’m not all that old.

30 is getting old whereas 20 perfect age. Young adults marry young and try to stay strong then grandparents are ageless. My parents married too old dad 36 mom 30. Dad is gone at 79 mom is still going strong 89.

As George Carlin said: I must be getting… older! Older sounds better than old: sounds like it’ll last longer

    “you can’t be a grandmother unless you’re old” – my sister-in-law was a gramma’ @ 38. Her daughter became one @ 37 ( that’s NOT old )…

When I was in German class in college we were doing true-false comprehension exercises and the question I got was “All grandmothers are old” and I answered True (well Ya). And a girl in my class objected with the story that her mother had her first child at 16 and then her sister had a child at 16. So I had to point out to her, well, yeah, that’s 32 right there.

A woman could easily be a grandma at age 36, still pretty young. Holly probably thinks 36 is old.

You are a child (behavior wise) until age 20, so 20-40 is young, 40-60 middle-aged, 60-80 old. Over 80………

One day at work, my coworker got a call to tell her her daughter had had the baby. My coworker was 28 and her daughter was 14. Not all grandmothers are old.

I don’t think Jan is building up to offing Grandma. I think she may be working up to letting Alix have a vacation in South Africa. (But not sure how they can afford it.)

I’m not old, but I’m technically old enough to be a grandmother (although, I am not one). Sigh. Where did the years go, right?

You don’t have to be old to be a Grandma. If you have a child at 15, then that child has a child at 15, you can be a Grandma at 30.There’s LOTS of young Grandmas in the ghetto.
