Ahhh, the annual “see no evil, speak no evil” anonymous curbside pickup! Of course, by the time the city crews arrive, the pile has already been picked over by the scavengers.Nothing wrong with scavenging; but, I always wonder how much of the stuff they collect ends up in a garage sale across town? After all, one person’s trash might be another person’s treasure.
It is a bit hard to tell in a strip featuring anthropomorphic animals, but looking at the shredded chair, I would say there are one or more cats in the house. My wife had a chair like that she wouldn’t part with until it structurally fell apart. It was the favored scratching post of her cats.
My younger brother has the chair that was our Dad’s, a chair that was in pictures when I was barely a toddler. How old? Here’s a hint: I’m collecting social security. (hastily adds: it’s been recovered a time or two…!)
I’ll bet the people who stack trash in front of the maibox don’t read Pluggers. Gary obviously drew it this way to better locate the chair so we’d know it was being disposed of. I read it the first time and thoujght “he should’ve put it on the patio.”
