Luci: Mom's worried because I'm not crawling...
Luci: As soon as I crawl, she'll want me to walk. As soon as I walk, she'll expect me to hoof it through the mall.
Luci: I'm no dummy.
Don’t worry too much Sally when mom does finally put you down to play the urge will over take you and crawling does start, walking, and you will be a typical child mall shopping.
Just looked at “Marvin” in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Looks as though he’s reaping the bitter results of learning to walk.http://www.arcamax.com/thefunnies/marvin/
Kids need to be raised in such a way to HAVE ambitions – to want to achieve and be independent. That’s how I raised mine, but I was married at 21 and had 4 children in the next 5 years, divorced at 37 and then I got to have a career in engineering, starting as a drafter (with ambition and drive).
It is only now, in my 70s that I’d rather relax and work on all my hobbies and just enjoy.
I’ve been reading this comic, and at some point before baby Luci already crawled! But, Max also talked at some point, and now he seems to be mute… So there’s probably a trend here, as per kids loosing their skills.

Luci, you’re a Girl…you can’t be introduced to a Mall too soon! ;)

If they’d ever put her down for any length of time, she just might do it.
And I second Mouse’s sentiment: Girls and Malls go together! Hmm… wonder if Holly can convince Luci that going to the mall is a good thing?

As long as her mom maintains her “one armed mom” standard, she won’t crawl.
