And yellow cake didn’t exist, WMDs didn’t exist, the lies and blackmail of Congress did. When Colin Powell admitted his lies to the UN were his most despicable moment, THAT, was true.
Any connection between a State Dept memo responding to a FOIA request for Benghazi memos, referencing Benghazi, and containing talking points that Susan Rice used to explain Benghazi…and Behghazi….is purely coincidental. Thankfully, the White House press corps is as dim as Carney think they are so they’ll buy it.
The conservatives keep beating on Benghazi because they are worried about Hillary becoming the next President and have nothing of substance to bitch about. They dream of being fully in charge of government so they can ban abortion, eliminate the minimum wage, kill Social Security, Medicare and the ACA, and pass some really restrictive voting laws so they can stay in charge forever.
More Benghazi! More Benghazi! Since the ACA is now working, try to make the 2014 elections about Benghazi! It was hilarious watching Darryl Issa try to get non-existent anti-Obama and anti-Clinton evidence from ethical people who were there and weren’t playing the Republican game. .
Actually, the Obamacare (it is interesting to note that the lefties do not call it that any longer) is not working. The administration can not say how many people who “signed up” have actually paid a premium. They also can not disclose how many people have health care insurance now did not have it before this takeover of the healthcare system.
The rest of the world can only observe in amazement how desperate Republicans continue to flog the unfortunate loss of four American lives in a war zone in the hope of squeezing out some political advantage. More is expected of America.
What the real tragedy is that the President did not order troops to the area to help them and now a second tragedy isthe terrorists have not been punished. The terrorists who committed this act are known but are free to walk around and give the United States the finger.
Now if these terrorists were Tea Party members, Dumbama would have bombed the hell out of them.
Denis: a friend did three tours in Iraq, and two in Afghanistan, in EOD. Never saw any chemical warheads, well except that modern high explosives ARE very destructive chemicals. Losing most of your friends doing a job makes you aware of your surroundings, and what you see. VIABLE chemical weapons, that WE provided Saddam were eliminated in-country after the first Gulf War.
Which, reports on Benghazi did reveal that long-standing State Dept. activities did leave many outposts around the world with less than ideal, or proscribed defense. This had been going on, for DECADES! Non-compliance with the “rules” regarding defenses and safety, had become SOP due to budget losses or insufficiency, and yes many State Dept. personnel around the world may deserve combat pay.
Sorry, but the Congressman ISSA has become a total nut, and is deserving of censure that won’t happen while the nut case brigade holds the majority in the House.
The killings in Benghazi were terrible, but not more terrible than events during every administration in recent times. Obama and his subordinates handled the aftermath badly. I don’t see a coverup, I see a cover-the-president’s-ass, which is business as usual. For me, the most important question is “What happens to a person who takes on the role of president?” And the answer is that even good people get changed — not for the better.
A person is not a role, but when a person takes on a role, the role can overwhelm the person. The more demanding the role, the more effect the role has on the person. I know this from watching other people and from watching myself. I try hard to keep an eye on the compromises I have to make, and if they get too great I hope I can refuse the role rather than compromise too much. Of course these are personal decisions, and I don’t want to make rules for others. But it’s something we all have to keep in mind. I can’t imagine the pressure the president — any president — must feel. My father was a high ranking government executive — he worked on nuclear policy, and he was particularly interested in arms control. At a certain point he felt that government policy was moving the wrong direction and that he could no longer in good conscience work for the government, so he quit.
You say, “The more I learn about your family, the greater my respect for them grows.” Well, they were all crazy as bedbugs. But interesting. I’ll tell you a little more privately.

It must be very frustrating for the Republicans to not get any traction with Bengazi.
