What a perceptive comment on our attempts to communicate with others. Even if we put on their spectacles or walk in their shoes, we can never really grasp the complexities of their lives that shape who they are today. Just a serious thought….
rekam: Despite the problem of fixed focus requiring different lens for different distances, I rejoice that I had the surgery. With the cataracts, I was about three degrees from needing a dog, even with bottle-bottom lenses. For awhile, I even had the first time in my life with a driver’s license with no restrictions. Even though shingles damaged my left eye enough to be back with that restriction, my right works well without, even at distance.
