Eons ago, stock options given to me as an hourly employee were a good thing. Nixon had frozen salaries so we got options. When I sold some of the stock, there was a tax free percentage of the proceeds. There was a nice IRA program I used as well. So i made money. the bank had money on deposit to loan at a profit and now the IRA is starting to pay off and my home is mortgage free. My stock options were not a give away, I earned them and profited from my efforts. TANSTAAFL!
