Maybe in your day Grandma, not now. Unless you can land a job after graduation that will pay you well and doesn’t dump you when the times get rough, you can bet that degree won’t be worth the paper it’s written on. Right now, there are a lot of people who still owe a great deal on their student loans or defaulted on them. They’re still paying them off and many are in retirement. The saying “you’ll earn more if you have a degree” would depend on the field of work you’ve chosen. Nine times out of ten, that statement is pretty much a lie.
