Looks like a scene from 1984; cameras everywhere, no complaining and other directive signs.

There are many alternatives to standing in line at the post office. If you already have stamps, then there are mailboxes around town where you can just dump your mail into. If you need stamps, there are postal stations in some grocery stores, or stamp machines in some businesses. The time that I had to actually go to a post office, there were no lines and I got my business done quickly.

Dear ubbm: I’d love to go to your post office. I didn’t have room in the strip for the line at mine and only had space for a quarter of the irritating signs telling all us waiters how to behave. Wilkinson

The only signs I see at my post office are the rates for different ways to send mail and packages, and a lighted sign saying if you use a credit card it has to be signed on the back and thanking you for using the post office.

A person can buy stamps online via usps.gov and have them delivered as well as using the self-serve stamp machines or buying them at various retail locations such as grocery stores, card shops, etc.My town has two post offices, and both are staffed by helpful employees. When there are lines then these employees get the job done and the line moves quickly. Most of the places I’ve lived have had nice people at the post office. I’ve rarely encountered the stereotypical rude postal employee.
