That is true so far for most people but how many homeless people are there now and how much is the percentage rising? How many people are moving in together in fairly large groups to share resourses?
My dad (B1906-D-1985) said he used to ride the rails. He was a carnie, He hired out as a farm hand, and he shined shoes. He saved everything. He said they used to put layers of cardboard in old shoes to keep them going. He said that all the factories were closed, and there was nothing on the store shelves to buy. My moms’ family farmed, and they fed anyone who walked up and asked. Just a few old stories… thought you might be interested.

Unemployment is nothing now compared to the great depression. Plus having FDIC has helped prevent a run on the banks.
