Pig is making a good point though, why can’t you just say he died? Nobody ever says that somebody died. It’s always passed on, or passed away, or we lost him, or some bull like that. Just say they died for crying out loud!(E’s not pinnin! He’s passed on. This parrot is no more. He has ceased to be. He’s expired and gone to meet his Maker. He’s a stiff. Bereft of life, he rests in peace. If you hadn’t nailed him to the perch, he’s be pushing up the daisies. He’s run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible. This is an ex-parrot!)
