    That’s not a name. That’s an instruction for what to do when he’s dead. It’s almost like naming your son Barry but spelling it “Bury.”

    Penny meant to say “Rush” not “Flush”. Then she could call it Gold Rush. (Which is also the name of the talk radio host who comes on at noon during the week.)

    I think “Flush” is an excellent name for a goldfish. We once had three hermit crabs that my daughter named Hook, Line and Sinker.

    Before we got a constant temperature showerhead, I’d often tell my wife to “Elizabeth Barrett’s spaniel” when she got out of the shower. It had the same name as Penny’s fish.

    Reminded that if I ever get to name a male dachshund, I’ll take inspiration from David Copperfield and name him Willis. A coachman named Barkus tells David several times to tell his nurse, Peggotty, “Barkus is willin’.” If you have a dachel named Willis, chances are at any moment that Willis is barkin’.
