Oh, man. I loved Pogo as a kid – surreal and political at the same time.

I don’t get the connection with the Pogo characters.

wjspencer, Pogo is famous for the saying “We have met the enemy and he is us.” Walt Kelly (?) I think was the author, but that was a really, really long time ago. ;)

Unfortunately for many people the “truth” is what they want it to be. One should always be willing to seek info outside of their regular sources.
