Reminds me a bit of Helen Reddy’s “Tried to Write a Song.”

A can of pop was a rare treat in my family. We never would have wasted it by spraying the dog!

This is why I love this strip – and have for uh, let’s just say a long time.Lynn has an ear for accuracy, an eye for detail, and the sense to see humor where most people don’t

The strip is in reruns. The episodes right now are from the early to mid 80s. The strip began in 1979.

When this strip appeared, microwaves were fairly new on the market, there were few personal computers, mostly Tandy that were home made and only “nerds” might have had one.

@Ray Thomas: You do know none of these FBOW comics are current, right? This particular one was originally published in May of 1985.

I like that they’re not into the present right now. It shows the simplicity of childhood that is missed now because of computers and other electronics. Kids don’t know what they are missing.

When I was in grade school, one kid brought a bottle of soda for recess. He sat it on his desk, then remembered the opener was in his coat pocket. When he left the room to get it, another kid reached over and shook the bottle like mad for a few seconds, and then sat it back down on the desk. (The ceiling was stained until the next time it was painted!)
