No offense madam but the woman has four kids, a full-time job as a nurse, and a husband with an even more demanding schedule!! What do you want her to do…quit her job?

Seems to me that she’s making time for her demanding mother right now. If just to listen to mom being unreasonable.

Reminds me of somebody I once knew, who would reduce his kids to tears by laying on the guilt, and then wonder why they didn’t visit more often.

She could always come over and babysit for Marcy!

At least Marcy’s mom does not phone call close to every minute except evenings.

She reminds me of one of my aunts, the poor dear. She had a good heart way underneath it all, but was preternaturally crabby. She wrote me a letter once that said, about my mother, “You’ll miss her when she’s gone.” Her son couldn’t wait to get out of the house. He even asked my mom to take him back to Florida with her.

Do you miss your aunt now that she’s gone? This strip is not funny today, just truthful.

Shortly after Clayton and Maureen got married, we stopped seeing them in the strip. I think it’s a nice way of bringing Maureen back in and making a point.

Oh snap! Marcy just got served a reality check!

I wish Marcy would tape-record what her Mom is saying and play it back for her, so Maureen could hear how selfish and self-absorbed she sounds!

Earning enough isn’t a problem.Keeping up with the joneses is a problem.

work, work friends, husband, his friends, 4 kids (two in diapers), 2 sets of grandparents (that’s a good thing), plus everyone else….. big family. good family…. they mostly get along..invite mom to stay a bit and look after the twins while you rest or nap or catch up with something that needs doing. Having two sets of in-laws is a very good thing.

It sounds as though both of you contributed something to each other’s lives, despite your differences.
