For anyone who cares about facts, this is based, not on “equal pay for equal work” but on the fact that, of the top 20 members of the White House staff, only 6 are women, so that the median income of women is less than the median income of men in the entire White House operation. Nor is it the worst administration in terms of percentage of women in high positions..Which means it’s basically one more partisan lie being passed on by cartoonists who are either too lazy to take five minutes to Google like I just did, or too stupid to understand what they’re reading or who are simply here to act as messenger boys for the rich oligarchs at the top.

What’s that got to do with pay equality? And are you suggesting quotas???

Pay equality presumes that everyone in a given job performs the same quality and quantity of work. Quotas ARE the logical extension: if everyone’s work is identical, then the population in any job should mirror national demographics.

Wow. That’s utterly ridiculous, but the good thing is, it keeps you from having to admit that maybe this cartoon is even moreso.

Somehow you manage to make 2+2 = 3. The point is that government (both sides of the political spectrum) behave as if they have the right to play outside the rules they construct for the rest of us. YOUR employees need to be a representative cross section of American society. I can hire anyone I wish. YOU need to pay your employees the same salary. I can pay whatever I choose. YOU need to pay taxes, buy health coverage under ACA, stop smoking cigs, etc. I am not bound by such base requirements.
