And don't let this cop intimidate you... She sounds kinda bossy to me... I don't like the term bossy. It's mostly used against women and is often unfairly applied to women who are merely being assertive... Yeah, Moondog... Gender specific putdowns aren't cool. In that case, do you think we can all agree to stop using the term macho Neanderthal jerk?...

Moondog, since you’re the type specimen, you just have to accept the label.

Yeah, it’s amazing how much of this “anti-pc” talk is just people wanting to be jerks without being criticized…

All this political correctness is just plain nonsense. (I can’t say bs on a family strip.)
Monster Hesh about 10 years ago
Oh, it’s well beyond “wanting to be jerks without being criticized.” We’re at the point where they want to be admired and rewarded for being jerks…and if they don’t get their way, they’ll rally a mob that demonstrates a very selective lack of understanding of the First Amendment.

never married…stayed away from that type, didn’t want to take a chance.

ha! nice slam on the “ban bossy” thing. Besides, since when was bossy ever REALLY gender specific? Before you know it feminists will want to ban the term “idiot” because they keep hearing it in reference to themselves.

Bravo, Moondog! Well said. Don’t let yourself be intimidated by the gang who try to force you to think what they want you to think.

Ding! Point to Moondog!

No-can-do Moondog – otherwise we’d have to cancel all the men-are-morons-sitcoms, which is pretty much all of them

(probably a lot of comic strips too)

Nicely put by “wakeangel2001”. Bitchy is possibly more sexist, but still get’s applied to both genders. Putting words and terms on the Euphemism Treadmill is RETARDED! (Pun completely intended.)

Excellent point, Moondog!

Being “bossy” is not a characteristic of a good leader. Bossy people have little empathy for anyone else — they just want to order people about. OTOH, people chose to follow true leaders.

I have called some women bossy. .but then….I have called some men bossy.
.If you’re bossy – then the label fits. It is a gender-neutral word.

Has anyone at that table ever referred to Moondog as a “macho neanderthal jerk?”
Because if they haven’t he’s just third-party-whining.
She’s addressing his offense directly; he’s pulling something out of his rear end to pretend he’s the Real Victim, not unlike the buffoon who gins up some distant childhood (or likewise vaguely related) incident to justify his racist jargon.

I don’t want equality. I’m perfectly happy being superior. :D

Neanderthal applies to both male and female, as does jerk. But yes, maybe “macho” shouldn’t be used as a put down.
