Gotta give the anti-healthcare reform crowd credit. The message shouted long and loud from the FOX news outlets has convinced the gullible that healthcare reforms were not necessary. I guess so thousands could continue to die for lack of affordable medical treatment and to declare medical bankruptcy. A victory for the political ideologues and vested interests and a loss for the people.

I know some people who have been effected by Obamacare. There’s my aunt. She had a rough time getting a job because she’s diabetic and potential employers didn’t want to deal with the insurance issues involved. Now she has her own insurance and a new job. Then there’s my niece, who can stay on her parent’s plan until she’s 26. Until Obamacare, she didn’t have insurance. Personally, Obamacare is closing the donut hole on my Medicare, which means it will pay for a lot of medication that would have been my problem before Obamacare. And, there’s my brother who was staying on a job he only needed for the insurance because his wife has chronic respiratory problems and if she had gotten really bad it would have wiped out their savings. Now he has Obamacare and he’s retired. Another person who has benefited is the lady who took the job he no longer needed. So, if you have some actual cases of people who offset all of these benefits, put up or shut up.

I would disagree with you on two points. One, it’s not about telling the truth. It’s about telling the objective truth. Both conservatives and liberals ‘lie’ because they spout a party line. Neither of the parties have the whole truth or at least not that I have seen. Perhaps nobody really does until it’s too late. But the main problem is so many stop searching for it once they get the word from above on how they are supposed to think on it.

The second point is about Dem’s not being self righteous. There are some Dem’s, and Conservatives, who can give an opinion without coming off as holier-than-thou. I’ve seen it in real life and on this board. But frankly there are a lot who can’t. That’s particularly true among Dems. I wish you luck in spreading that messge though.

As I look on from outside, I see partisan bickering (on both sides) rather than any serious attempt to get health insurance right. It’s not that hard. Look around for a good model — there are several different models out there that seem to work pretty well — pick the one that seems right for the US, and pass it into law. What is it about the US that makes it so hard?

Notice how the elephant (so unjustly aligned with the demonic party) is running with NOTHING, and the donkey has the scissors to cut through the elephant’s bull****.

They control the Senate and President Obama has a pen and a cell phone. They don’t need cooperation. They just want to kick the can down the road past the next POTUS election at least. By then the insurance companies should be all but wiped out. Mission accomplished!

They have not voted to repeal it 40 times, that is a Democratic stretch of the imagination. Any time the House votes on anything related to changing or fixing it Democrats count it as an attempt to repeal something that is pretty much unfixable. Any Republican ideas are ignored or considered as an attack for scorekeeping.

You always seem to be fine with Harry Reid not bringing anything to a vote because he doesn’t want Democrats on record. I don’t hate one side or the other, but just hate how both sides just play these games and waste our tax money and literally do nothing good for the people that pay taxes. Neither side helps the other unless it means they stand a better chance of getting re-elected by their constituants.

You can’t fix this monstrosity of a bill that was designed to get us to single payer, gov’t control.
