    LOL. heard a story once, about a guy who shanked his first tee shot and had it roll on to the 18th green and drop into the cup. one of the onlookers referred to it as “hitting a course in one” sounds like what they’re playing.

    gmartin997, there are links type courses where you play the front nine away from the clubhouse and the back nine back toward the clubhouse. best example is probably St Andrews, but a course i play from time to time has the ninth green only about 50 feet from the first tee, so i can see how it could happen. i’ll admit it isn’t the best “golf joke” i’ve ever heard, but anything to lighten the mood when you’re starting your round helps.
