Poor Republicans. No credibility in foreign affairs. No constructive domestic agenda. Nothing to offer. At least they still have Ramirez to cluster with and commiserate.

“……at least GW manged to get over half the world on our side when he needed it…..”.Yeh, right. For the invasion of Iraq, the U.K., Australia, and Poland provided some combat troops. Thirty-seven countries were bribed to sign on with token support to flesh out the numbers. And a large number of countries like Canada did not fall for the phony baloney. But I’m sure the support given by the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, and the Solomon Islands proved pivotal.

I would far rather have a president that had no foreign policy, and therefore did not listen to the chicken hawks and get us into wars that killed thousands of our best youth than have one with a foreign policy that did. I am more than tired of this country being the “leader” or policemen for the rest of humanity.

The ultra conservatives on this site should either shut up about the president not getting us into wars (as did a certain other president recently), or shut up about the debt level of maintaining a military larger than the next 5 militaries (or at least more costly than) combined!! We will be (for all affective purposes) out of the last war (Afghanistan) this year. So, either shut up about a lack of foreign policy that keeps us from useless and destructively expensive wars, or shut up about our debt level. One way or the other ultra conservatives. Sorry, but the American people in general do not want you to have both choices, so it is up to you!!

If president Obama had literally gotten us totally out of both Iraq and Afghanistan in his fist year in office, then you and the other ultra conservatives on here would have been the first to complain about his abandoning our obligations there!

It does not matter what president Obama does, or does not do. you and your ultra conservative buddies would complain, and complain, and complain about it.

Heck, he could come out for the traditional American values of mom and apple pie, and you people would then declare motherhood to somehow be unconstitutional, and apple pie to be a communist plot to destroy America. It does tend to get old after awhile!!

“…….Gw did not lie to the USA. what ever “syntax” he used I knew he was not going to double talk…….”.Surely you are not so history challenged as to be unaware of the bogus selling of the Iraq invasion, can you?

“……I am sufficiently historically aware that every claim you falsely called a lie has been incontrovertibly proven true by military field reports,….”.Really, how about the mushroom clouds, the spinning centrifuges, the yellow cake, the remote drones, the mobile chemical weapons, the hidden stockpiles of WMD. Why did Bush invade when Hans Blix and the U.N. were still searching and stated no evidence of WMD could be found? What are your sources, or do you just make it up?

“…..But the point is still GW Bush did NOT Lie! He had the same information as everyone else…..”.No, everyone else had the same information Bush gave them, much of which was fabricated.

Iraq’s use of chemical agents during its war with Iran is an incontrovertible fact (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran–Iraq_War). Thus, they clearly had WMDs – hell, we sold them to him. When faced with a UN mandate that they destroy their chemical weapons inventory, they said they did so, but offered no proof beyond their word. Who would take Saddam at his word? So of course the US thought he still had the weapons. Nobody imagined he actually did destroy them (or maybe he just used them all in battles against Iran and his Kurdish population).

Without going into the BBC links I can agree that there were abuses with the Oil For Food program. But, what can you expect in a multi-million dollar program implemented in a destabilized country, involving a dictator with his own needs and agenda, and the impossibility of adequate oversight and audit. The question would be not if, but how much would be the abuses. The malfeasance was not by the U.N., however, it was by individuals working on behalf of the U.N., Saddam, and agents working with countries involved in the program. As I recall, family of the Secretary General were somehow involved. But, because you have a leaky program and some bad apples throughout the program, does not mean you write off the U.N. agency for evermore. They do a lot of good work including looking for WMD’s without the violence and bloodshed. The real culprit is the Bush administration that for several years waged continuous air strikes, no-fly zones, and other sanctions. Unfortunately, you harm not only the bad man but the kids and the innocent. As I said, you would no more condemn the U.N. for evermore than you would write off and condemn the U.S. for evermore for essentially one administration’s bone headed and unscrupulous foreign policy.

Yes. Actually he could have pulled the plug. True it takes time to end a war. But he didn’t start ending it when he took office. Did he? Also, I wasn’t aware that I had a ‘nothing bad ever happened before Obama’ meme. Actually, I’ve made several comments on these boards stating Bush was a worse president. Here’s a little something your ‘true intelligence’ doesn’t seem to be able to comprehend, despite your pleas to the contrary: just because you don’t support one side, doesn’t mean you support the other. Get over yourself. You are no better than the conservatives you insult. Honestly, you’re worse.

I see that Mr. Ramirez still has not learned to draw or even do a reasonable parody of the human figure. How he became a paid cartoonist is a mystery to me.
