@phritzg – it was all ad revenue. The guy didn’t even release a paid version of the app. It earned so much because of it’s meteoric rise in app downloads and the fact that it make people so infuriated that they couldn’t stop playing!If you didn’t hear, the developer has since removed the game from all app stores. He was getting death threats from people on twitter/email and it changed his life so significantly that he couldn’t take it anymore. Not sure if I would go that far earning $50k/day, but to each his own!
