    If she did not have rocks in her head she would know an engineer from a programmer.

    And she most likely thinks a Engineer drives a train in her company.

    @Agent54

    I am an engineer and I also program, and every engineer I know who works either in IT or electronics knows how to program. What is the difference?

    My grandfather was once the Head of Engineering at Purdue University. They printed a school memo of some sort showing him in a cartoon wearing the traditional striped hat with his head out the window, driving a train. I remember it well although I was only about 8 or 9 years of age when he showed it to me.

    Rita: “Well, if you were born to manage, why am I still the boss?”

    Sometime before the invention of fire, I was a Freshman at an engineering school. A friend, a Senior EE, had a TV in his dorm room, and it quit. Printed circuit board, bunch of tubes. I had to show him how to use a light to search for a crack in the board. (We found it and dribbled a bit of solder on it. Worked fine….)

    One of the reasons I bailed – practical skills…. ’Course, today, you do everything with EPROMS….
