I was listening to NPR (National Propaganda Radio) and they simply reported it as REPUBLICANS VOTE TO INCREASE DEBT LIMIT!Of course a majority of Republicans said no to even more debt, but every single Dem and their Leader were for it.
169 Republicans voted to approve the compromise budget. Only 28 voted to approve PAYING for that exact same budget. The GOP has given up all pretense of being a party of fiscal responsibility.
It means Overtaxed believes the Democrats and Republicans are playing good cop – bad cop. They’re all cops with the same goal but you get to choose which side are the good cops even though there’s no real difference.
“ARodney said…” (blah, blah, blah)-As usual, Dem-Libs ignore the truth.The GOP that oppose a “clean raise of the debt ceiling” bill,oppose it not to avoid paying for authorized spending.They oppose the fake pretense of being “fiscally responsible” by raising the debt limit cap without corresponding cuts in the many accounts that overspend and spend on PORK giveaways to donors and voters, that the feds ought not be funding in the first place.-The GOP leadership earned criticism for again caving on the principle that preaches against spending DEFICIT MONEYS.-The US budget DEBT rose $2.7 Trillion in 2.5 years of the “savings deal” the GOP Boehner “achieved” in mid-2011.-This GOP Boehner fiasco will add $1 Trillion by March 2015, the new “deal” to raise the spending ceiling; The current DEBT of $17.2 Trillion will rise to $18.2 Trillion.-Are you Democrats and Liberals happy?
The idiotic supposed “ceiling” is only to cover what they’ve ALREADY SPENT! As the bills come in, they have to adjust the balance on hand. The PROBLEM is that it’s more borrowing and myth, instead of raising taxes to try to match up! Reagan did, Bush 41 DID, Clinton did, but "W and Cheney did NOT, thus doubling what had become huge debt, and could have been forestalled. Under Obama the DEFICIT HAS DECLINED, but yes the debt has continued to rise, just not as fast. (I also love the way so many conservatives try to figure the pre-Obama debt by using when Bush 41 left office, not Bush 43, a common “error” on their parts?)
The debt ceiling nonsense is over 100 years old and was passed for different era and a long-ago war. Time to ditch it and just pay for what you’ve already bought. Yes, you, republican-ruled House.
