Tar sands oil is being processed in the Marathon refinery in Detroit. In order to get the “oil” to go through a pipeline, they add LPG to help liquefy it. Means high pressure in the pipeline. One day recently the pipeline carrying it through Michigan broke. The LPG immediately evaporated. Luckily it did not catch fire, but still an even worse greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide. The remaining tar, just sank into the river. They have been trying to clean it up for well over a year now. Oh, and the stuff that gets to the refinery, has to be coked to extract the oil. The main product of the coking process is “coke”. Kind of like black sand. Therein lies a second problem. What to do with the coke. No market for it. So they have been piling it up near the Detroit River. Where it just sits. They make much more than anyone is willing to buy. THIS IS BAD!!

“If President Obama said the Keystone Pipeline was a grate idea, Bennett would back him 1000%”And the Republicans would likely decide to oppose it.

From Canada, I can tell you that horror is destabilizing Canada. It’s depoppulating areas, It’s dividing us between east and west. Quebec is only still part of Canada because separatists can,t get their shit together at the moment. God help us if they find their man against Harper. It’s also a major cause of dispute against the Ottawa government and the First Nations

Keep approving this, at this speed and intensity, and there won’t be a Canada as we know it in a few years.
