Isaac Asimov wrote of self-cleaning houses (in the future). EVERY room had a drain, and water sprayers (mixed with soap/detergent) to clean the rooms. You would have everything stored away (in a waterproof cubby) hit a button on the central computer terminal, and the house would clean itself.
