As Rod Stewart used to say, “So far away. Doesn’t anybody stay in one place anymore? It will be so fine to see your face at my door. And it doesn’t help to know that your just time away. Long ago I reached for you and there you stood. Holding you again could only do me good. Oh how I wish I could, but you’re so far away.”

How about “my guy”? The “my” adds the part that shows that you’re together.

Well, I think Arnold may WELL be excited. Even though we discussed few specifics and I had not seen him for years, I arrived to stay with my old friend (74 at the time) and he had satin sheets on the bed, flowers there and with cocktails and a new big Jacuzzi tub. I spent one of the best months ever with him and we did quite a bit of sightseeing too even though he works all week long.
Still, it was too far to travel and he did not enjoy the Skype mischief as much as I, so now I have a local man who I think is an even better match for my . . . temperament.

And I’m 76, and my new man is just 70, but with some folks I introduce him as my boyfriend, with others as my lover. My children are in their 50s (and so are his).

@ comisssfan – actually, over 70 or so years, even those of the male persuasion are capable of learning – if they are interested. Seems like DAZZ has found one, and kudos to her!
My boyfriend, who is my spouse, is 72, but even not living alone, he’s capable of learning. There’s hope for most of them, with consistently kind treatment … and the occasional boot applied to the nether regions ;-)

I wonder what Evie’s man-friend is thinking right about now… ;)

@Chabias, I think Edie and I have a bit in common ;-)@ Hawthorne, my new friend (of just 2 months actually dating so far) I found in a dating site online (with a naughty reputation) but I sorted out my matches carefully with a variety of profile tests and photos and only met 3 others (all in mall locations). He impressed me greatly from the beginning (and we had already conversed a lot online, but we chatted for 2 hours before we made a date and he took me to my car). The kiss he gave me there sealed it for me. I had to sit and calm myself before driving home. I’m still waiting to find something about him that distresses me (there must be something) but he’s only been divorced a couple of years.

AND (~for those I know are wondering~) I had testing done before I started my new search and insisted that they do likewise. I have been having regular tests for nutritional matters all this year (as previously I only tested cholesterol etc. yearly) to lower my blood pressure because I did not want any poisonous meds. I am now happily under 140 most of the time and still improving with this situation ;-D
