Funny – I remember they took the swing seats and steel chains off the swing sets for the winter so we we would not do stupid things with snow and ice.

And an old-time sliding board. Don’t see too many of them these days.

Depending upon the weather and your available resources (a bit of sand or a square of waxed paper) you could get some real speed up on the way down those things.

Well done, Jef. My great uncle was shot down on a run over the Black Sea.

And just who do you think the person responsible for taking down and stowing the swings would be? Hardly a surprise they’re still up.

Not just the pilots were vulnerable…the whole crew! Turret gunners, copilots, navigators…and the nose gunner had a front row seat! Those guys all paid a huge price and those left are getting pretty old now!

Wow. Our own little US grown brown shirts for the American Taliban. This is a day to be proud…ugh. Dude, horrible news in my corn flakes this morning. Unfortunately it’s good to know, to beware.

This comic conjures up the images and descriptions of rear gunner cleanup and repair on WWII bombers. Talk about sitting ducks. My grandfather said that “you become numb to the duty. You accept death as an inevitable fate, and you do whatever is demanded of you.”

Jef – this is funny. And is no ways disrespectful to the WWII veterans. I see nothing wrong with this strip.

In fact, I now want to grab some of the guys and actually play this game…..
