My new business plan! My 3 long hair kitties are already hard at work producing raw material for weaving.

At our house, the only thing that dog hair doesn’t stick to is the dog.

We “harvest” the malamute fur during spring and fall blows. We thought about knitting sweaters until someone pointed out that every time it got damp it would smell like wet dog. A better use— lining the fence to discourage deer from the garden.

I know a woman who spins her own yarn, and I gave her a bunch of hair from my sister’s golden retriever. She spun me a ball of golden yarn.

It’s a novelty, not to actually be made into fabric, because the individual hairs are too short to make sturdy yarn. It would fray away if actually used.
