    You can take a lot more pictures when you don’t have to pay for the film and to get them developed. Just download to a hard drive or upload to the cloud.

    Black and white actually seems better for old photos. The colors in the “color” photos all got reddish or brownish with time.

    I read or heard somewhere a long time ago that black and white film is the second most stable substance for storing images – the first being acid-free paper.

    Until our first Instamatic camera in1970 all of our immediate family photos, as well as those on Mom’s side, were black and white. Color photos were one of the special things about visting Dad’s Aunt Lillian.

    Childhood is fleeting? So is young adulthood. One day you are young,enjoying life. Then all of a sudden there is this old person with a young person inside yelling “what the h*** happened? Where did the time go?” I know, it’s better than the alternative. (sigh)
