^Hmm, I’m very close to my step sister and her whole family. My step brother, only saw him twice in my life. It was largely a matter of geography as my sister lived nearby when we were in California, and he and his family lived in Iowa. Throw in that your “steps” live on the other side of the planet, and it’s pretty understandable they aren’t “close”. (also interesting the anti-Obama folks omit that little issue of “STEP” brother, as a lot of “blended families” aren’t really blended at all!)

Might want to reflect on the history of British and other European monarchies over the centuries as well! Borgias were also a friendly bunch.
