We used to go out on the front porch, bang pot lids and ring bells for about two minutes, and then go back inside for hot chocolate. Our next door neighbors shoot guns and set off (illegal) fireworks until about three AM. Bah, humbug!

Happy New Year everyone!

I completely slept through New Year’s for the first time in a while. I only woke up at two when the neighbor drove home.

But what IS the number for 911? Buckwheat and Porky had a tough time figuring that out when the He-Man Woman Haters Club clubhouse was on fire. In the mean time, “Cul de Sac” readers, happy new year.

I used to go out to my front yard and blow a tin horn several times on New Year’s. In New England, it’s usually very cold on New Year’s, so I came back in before my lips froze to the tin horn. It was fun just the same.
