My wife & I got each other new cellphones for Christmas and we’re debating on new livingroom carpet. Such a thrilling life we lead.

hubby and I bought new tires for our car for last year. This year it’s a new dishwasher for our “together” gift. Works for me. These are things we really need, and we’re a team. Now that’s romantic!

I like practical gifts. And if it’s a home upgrade you wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford or buy I think it’s a great present.

A friend asked what was I getting the wife for our 18th wedding anniversary. I said we are going together on a dish washer. He said that sounds like what a couple married 18 years would do. Told him….just wait.

My wife and I had hoped to give each other nice gifts this year, but the car had other ideas. Merry Christmas, darling – it’s a new battery!
