Okay, this is the second cartoonist who doesn’t know the difference between Medicare and the policies on the health exchange and thinks old people’s coverage is subsidized by the young and healthy. So who are they listening to for this piece of basic misinformation — Rushbo or Glenn Beck?

Yep. Plus the more people in the pool, the cheaper everyone’s rates will be.

Got my Medicare statement yesterday for what they’ve paid for this year. Also noted how much I had to come up with from my additional insurance, or “out of pocket”. Even Medicare isn’t “free”, and it indeed has nothing to do with the ACA, but don’t upset the “right” by pointing that out. (Yes, I also have private insurance, AND VA, but at least getting blown up is the only “premium” I had to pay to get coverage from VA!)

The health care “mess” does need some REVISION, both Medicare, Medicaid programs, and the PPACA, but in the end, solutions are much more likely than getting most “defense projects” to ever work!! (Just speaking of huge spending that doesn’t really do the “common man”, blue collar or white, much good.)

^Just a note: Insurance companies have always INVESTED those premiums to make the money to pay out the small percentage of the money they handle that pays claims! Rex Ellsworth, owner of Kentucky Derby Winner Swaps, was asked when the horse broke its leg if he had insurance. Rex replied “no, why should I build those companies MORE skyscrapers over on Wilshire Boulevard?” HIs horse DID recover for breeding btw, and Rex was quite right about where premiums actually go.
