How many of us have seen coffee cans with a person’s picture pasted on, at market check-out lines? They say things like, “John has leukemia. No insurance. Please help.” and “Mary has cancer. She lost her insurance. Please help.” You know they’re for real when you read about fund raisers for those people in the local papers.
Whatever the problems with the roll-out, I give the current administration credit for trying to do something to alter a shameful shortcoming. The most precious natural resource our country possesses is a healthy populace.
Oh, come now. Nothing? What about Romneycare? What about Republicans proposing the original idea?The biggest problems with the ACA have come about because the president and the Democratic Party tried to make a health care law that would be a good compromise. Unfortunately for them, the compromise was with people whose big idea was to kill any health care change at all.
