Little do people understand that if the debt ceiling wasn’t raised the USA would’ve defaulted on its debt. People counting on Social Security, VA benefits & Medicare would’ve been royally screwed. Mass unemployment & rising interest rates would’ve just been the beginning. Fortunately cooler heads prevailed in the end.
