It’s easy to explain: Lisa has no clue what she’s talking about. California has gotten rid of hyperpartisan Republicans using a new election system, and suddenly the government is functioning well for the first time in 30 years. They’re paying for education, and having budget surpluses. There’s more work to do, but conservatives HATE it when people are able to run governments well, which explains why so many of them are sending money to Ted Cruz. (As for the specific complaint in the cartoon, Lisa’s worried that if San Francisco has higher wages for barristas than Topeka, somehow the coffee shops will outsource the barristas to Kansas. Or something.)

My only claim to precognition is leaving California in 1978 because I saw the tsunami coming. There were other reasons but that was the lead coated straw.

Hmm, 8 years of the terminator, a republican under which all the dire things happened. New Govenor, a democrat, things are improving. Gotta look at the big picture, not just lisa and Orange County.

The most prevailing wage protects communities from unscrupulous contractors taking jobs from you by bringing in workers that will work for sub standard wages. Protects jobs and the communities’ economy. The right hates the thought that workers should receive good wages and take away from excessive profits. When everyone must bid a job using the same wages experience and quality take the lead.
