I think wishing pain and suffering on the majority of Americans is despicable. Not to mention greed, dishonorable behavior and the failure of republicans to do the job they are still being paid to do in the HORs.

ansonia: How? By too weakly allowing (and occasionally encouraging) the take-over of the government by the military/industrial complex that a generation ago Republican warned us against?

“I agree. Democrats should stop that.”They will, Church, when they take the House back from the Republicans, and get a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.Unless the Republicans are saved by all the gerrymandering they’ve done, and by the short memory of the average voter.

The teabaggers cost this country 24 billion dollars and what did they get for that? Oh right, respect…

The current crop wants to throw the Constitution, not tea, overboard. Which IS an odd goal for supposed “patriots”.

You think the Tea Party method for overturning a law (i.e. shut down the government until they get their way) was taken from the Constitution?

I’m not sure the “power of the purse” is supposed to be used to withhold implementation of a law passed by Congress, signed by the President, and ruled constitutional by the Court.Nor should it be used to shut down the government.

I’m not saying withholding funds doesn’t happen…I’m just questioning the constitutionality of it. I think the authors gave the power for Congress to raise money (taxes, etc.) to meet the obligations of laws, and that’s what their duty is…not to avoid that duty because they couldn’t get rid of the law in proper ways.

I’m amazed how any right winger can blame the President or the Dems for the shutdown. Passing the clean Bill presented to the House would have avoided the shutdown. The ACA can be tweeked any time. It does not need to be used to hold the Country hostage. When you vote for the teabaggers this is what you get, stupidity!

    Hey Lalo!

Stop blaming Republicans & the Tea Party for the shutdown! You’re acting like a spoiled brat!! Obama closed up the WW II monument in Washington DC for WWII vets, so the vets placed the barricades in a POLITE, STACKED Manner. That “immigration rally” at the Washington monument was done by your buddy and king, OBAMA, and the illegals whining for amnesty trashed the Washington Monument grounds. Did you ever think of that? Let’s not forget. Obama also was responsible not sending out money benefits to veterans who passed away. Not Republicans like Ted Cruz. Okay?

Both parties (Democrat and Republican) have to stop this government spending! I strongly believe we (Obama and the democrats) once again going to raise the debt ceiling. I guess you guys believe you won’t run out of money and keep borrowing it. Federal lawmakers need a taste of reality. If people like this spend too much to pay ours bills, the banks will be on our butts!

Finally, I just wanted to say that I’m american. I am part Scotish, part Canadian, part Norweigan, and I’m part CHEROKEE INDIAN (Lumbee). After all of this, I just call myself and american and I do believe I’m not a bigot. If you can’t criticize the president, libs call you a bigot, but it’s okay to call George W. Bush every name in the book. After all, people like you can get away with this through our media. Oops, I forgot. I am a Tea Party member and we are going to stay around like stink on sh** (Stuff the libs and Obama put out)!!

That’s why the republican idiots said they were “giddy” to shut the government down?
