There’s no need to mock the tea party; they mock themselves. How do you have a serious conversation with people who have tea bags hanging from their hats? Add to that the fact that the vast majority of these anti-government morons live in red states which, by the way, receive more from that government they hate than they pay in taxes. The only exception would be texas. Of course, these federal handouts are paid for by taxpayers in Blue states, who actually receive less from the government than they pay in taxes. Hence the terms “giver” and “taker” states. As far what invented the tea party: there’s no mystery there. The very first rally they ever held had them arriving in caravans of half million dollar custom made buses. Did they ever have a thought about who paid for those buses? Have they ever heard of the koch brothers? The tea party is wholly funded by corporate America. Everybody seems to understand that except the tea party.
