I have friends in Tehran who are in a metal band, And I have pictures they have sent me of the clubs they play in with teenagers and twenty-somethings (male and female) having a good time dancing (and moshing) without any of the women wearing so much as a hijab. They have even sent pictures in the streets of Tehran of people wearing t-shirts and jeans, and many young women are beginning to stop wearing anything on their heads. The point he was making to me is that the people of Iran no longer take the Ayatollah seriously. They want to be in the twenty-first century, not the ninth. Don’t let the news outlets fool you into thinking that the leaders represent their people at all. The only reason they still have power is because they still control the military.
The Peaceful Religion Kills again and again and again.I don’t think it was Mohammed who said, “But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence.”Look up ‘The Lord’s Resistance Army’
What’s your point? That Christians are slaying enemies of Christ? If you bothered looking up the group I referenced, you’d find that’s exactly what I’m talking about. Large scale killings going on now, not during the Crusades. Anyone killing in the name of religion, whether it’s Islam, Christianity or Judaism, is missing the message. No religion is without it’s share of violent adherents.http://smallwarsjournal.com/jrnl/art/youth-lost-ugandan-child-soldiers-in-the-lord%E2%80%99s-resistance-armyhttp://www.satp.org/satporgtp/countries/india/states/tripura/terrorist_outfits/nlft.htmSince you’ll inevitably ask, ‘what is my point?’, I’ll tell you. Anyone who thinks all Muslims are extremists who want to rule the world, is an idiot. Anyone who thinks all Christians have become pacifists, is an idiot.
Considering that Iran’s last stoning occurred 6 years ago, that the practice has been placed on memorandum and that it was one confirmed event in 10 years.
As opposed to our good friend Saudi Arabia which continues stoning both with and without trial.
But hey we all know if they are brown and not our friends that they are evil
Fourcrows and Joe, are of course, quite right, but we mustn’t interrupt the bigoted propaganda from the right, in the U.S., and Israel. Is theocracy bad? Yes. Iran, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and of course the Roman Catholic dominated period in Europe, long proved that. Which is why the founding fathers also broke from the Church of England, and specified we’d be a secular nation with freedom of, and more importantly, FROM religion.
