Crochet is a perfectly young and hip hobby. I started in college. It’s had a total revamp from your gramma’s crochet.

How has crochet been revamped? I might want to try it again.

Go, girl! I began Taekwondo at the age of 51, & 5 years later, have lost over 100 pounds, & am a 2nd degree Dan black belt with Kukkiwon/WTF. My friends think that I am crazy, but for the first time in my life, I have found adventure through exercise! I wield swords, staves, nunchaku, etc. ! No real health problems now, unlike my friends my age. And, I can defend myself with a reasonable amount of skill! We are never too old to learn!

Except for the aches and pains acting as a reminder otherwise, I generally feel like I am still in my mid 20’s. That is why I hate dealing with health care professionals in an official capacity. They destroy my self-perception with the question, " what is your date of birth?"

It is insulting to consider square dancing a boring activity. I have been involved since I was 16. I am now 53. It is a wonderful family activity built around fun and friendship.

Generally in the late spring, after the close of the spring semester, the local community college gives classes on motorcycle riding. If you can complete it, you can just show your certificate to the MVA to get your motorcycle endorsement on your driver’s license. A friend of mine, who was pushing 70, took the class. He washed out of it because he has developed balance problems over the years and he couldn’t keep the bike upright. Within earshot of his wife, I said to him, “Your wife has probably never been so relieved in her life that you were a failure at something.” Her eyes widened and she nodded very firm agreement.
