This sounds similar to that Star Trek episode where duplicates were created of people only those were androids. Just what in world is Ghote up to?

You would think, after everything that’s gone down, that Diet would have alerted Tracy to Ghote’s visit.

This strip gets better every day. At the sake of repeating myself, this takes me back to being the first one in the house in the mornings to get the paper so I could read DICK TRACY and so many other strips. Today, I come home from work (11:30 p.m.), and go straight to the computer to pull up the next days strip. DICK TRACY is enjoyable again! THANK YOU TEAM TRACY.

A simple android doesn’t work, because we already know there is some DNA matchup. I was leaning to a relative who has been “adjusted”, but that doesn’t fit with the promise to Diet Smith. Don’t trust a word of it, Diet!If he were being straight, Ghote would have told Diet about Sail’s criminal financers, and the threat to his life made by Bardoll’s replacement, Melies.Instead of a quiet chat, it would have been, “Ya gotta save me! Call Dick Tracy – NOW!”Only after he were in police protection would Ghote be willing to talk to Smith – if he were being honest.

Very creative intro yesterday. Let’s hope the next 30 live up to the expectations and we wind up this Odyseus like epic.

So, the possibilities are that she’s an android (but with real hair), a clone who has the personality, memories and probably soul of the person (i.e., like Herbert’s gholas), another Moon person (or human, but that seems unlikely) made up like Moon Maid, or that Moon Maid didn’t quite die in that explosion. I’m leaning toward the last one. Ghote may be brilliant, but he’s also a big fraud and he’s lying to save his own skin.

Ghote is just digging himself in deeper. After reading today’s speculative comments, I find it hard to imagine how he could come up with a quasi-scientific explanation of “Moon Maid” that would convince that crusty old Diet Smith or us.
