It’s a tragedy but in a supermarket, the other week ,I heard one mother say to her son, “Keanu, come away from there.”.I guess he’ll later change his name to Athelstan or Knut.

I was thinking Cletus Jethro Ezekiel as a name, then they could just call him “Bubby,”

There was a King Stephen. Wildly unpopular Count of Blois who usurped his cousin Queen Maud, and his entire reign was engulfed in civil war. He was succeeded by Maud’s son Henry II, the first Plantagenet King. THe name hasn’t been used since.

When I was doing data entry for high school surveys I found one kid whose first name was “Amoral”.

I figured his mother was a bad speller who loved cooking shows….

ANY of those names would have been better than “George.” Ugh!

It’s been the name of many kings before him, that’s often why a name becomes common among the commoners.

It may be even more. There’s a pretty decent chance that both Charles and William will decide to be “George” for purposes of kinging it.

“Vortigern”, on the other hand, is right out. He was the British (i.e., Welsh) king who said, “Hey, since we’re having so much trouble with Saxon pirates, let’s invite a Saxon army to come here and defend us from them.”
