We don’t have to defend Mr. Zimmerman Stevo – He has been found Not Guilty by a jury of his peers in a trial that should have never happened.

Nobody likes it when a person gets killed. But neighborhoods don’t have to let thugs take over and ruin their environment. The neighborhood created that watch because they did have a problem with criminals.

I dont’ think Mr. Martin was out to commit mischief that night but at the point where he attacked Mr. Zimmerman he became part of the problem the Neighborhood watch was trying to solve.

According to our Attorney General, Mr. Holder, if threatened you should retreat, if Travon would have retreated. (I am certain he could outrun Mr. Zimmerman) at the end of the night he would have been still breathing, perhaps heavily, but breathing).

Zimmerman was NOT told not to follow. Being told, “We don’t need you to do that”, by a dispatcher is not a command, and the dispatcher has no authority to make commands anyway.Can you please tell me what you think you are gaining by telling such an obvious lie?

You don’t have ANY evidence that Mr. Zimmerman was stalkikng Trayvon Martin – He was following him but according to the only evidence I have (from the trial) It was Trayvon that attacked Mr. Zimmerman. Mr. Zimmerman had every right to be walking around in that neighborhood whereever he wanted to be. Just Like Trayvon.

All of the Racebaiting and bitching by the black community will not change the evidence that was presentable.

The trial came out correct. The fact that a man is dead is unfortunate.

And you have misquoted what happened. It was a 911 dispatcher that encouraged Mr. Zimmerman not to follow. That is far different then a police order. You might think it is a subtlety but it is an enormous difference in the eyes of the law.

So a hispanic man killing a black man is racist? What about the daily black-on-black killings, rapes and thefts? Are they okay?

The only eye-witness testified that Martin was on top and punching Zimmerman so it’s not like he was blameless.

“Stalking” is illegal in many jurisdictions, check out some of the celebrities who’ve gotten restraining orders, or folks jailed for stalking them.

Zimmerman violated every “rule” of actual neighborhood watch groups. Remember, Z was the leader of his “group”, and has anyone ever come up to say he wasn’t the ONLY ONE in his “group”???

Martin was a juvenile who was suspended from his SCHOOL for smoking a doobie. HE had no criminal record, or record with police for repeated calls as a vigilante. And, even if he DID have a record, as a juvenile, it shouldn’t ahve been made public! He was not a “thug”, despite what Zimmerman, or the tightie righties say. His description of Zimmerman, who WAS stalking him in his phone conversation to the girlfriend (who is NOT a native English speaker, so had trouble communicating on the stand), also indicates why his life experience didn’t tell him to call 911 for “help”.

Yes, nothing says “trouble maker” like walking home from the convenience store, in the rain, with the hood up on your sweatshirt!

So when OJ was found not guilty did you say the same things? Did you preach to let it go? Here in Missouri if someone is kicking your ass because you followed them around a dark neighborhood guess what? You cant shoot them, period. Now you have the precedent in Florida that if you THINK someone is scaring looking you can shoot them and guess what that goes for people of all races and color. We’ll see how much you agree with that verdict as more cases come to trial because of this precedent.

Lie? He was told by the 911 operator not to follow Martin. That operator is a represenative of law enforcement. Are you trying to say that is a lie because you are using semantics? You are an idiot, no semantics needed for that statement!!

@DrCanuck – From what I can tell in the news – Urban youth are suffering a shortage of many things: Good educational opportunities, high quality food, job opportunities, etc. But guns don’t seem to be in short supply.

I, personally, am not afraid of an armed population. I think my neighbor has 12 or 14 guns on several racks in his house. I’ve never seen him use them for anything other then hunting or target practice. His ownership of those guns doesn’t threaten me in the least.

I feel the same way about any law abiding citizen’s ownership. I support taking 2nd amendment rights away from convicted criminals but that is as far as it goes.

I’m hoping that black individuals who shoot white teenagers in the middle of slamming their head to the pavement are declared not guilty as well.

There are some interesting comments by a black “gun guy” living in Detroit in the book “Gun Guys, a Road Trip”, by Dan Baum. He became an advocate of “concealed carry” (and a firearms instructor) after he was mugged by a couple black guys at gunpoint’.

BTW, not al liberals “hate” guns, a majority just believe in responsible ownership, and use, of them.

It’s interesting on this forum that if a commentator tries to draw from actual life experiences to place issues in context, they are attacked by “the radical element”, who has nothing but hyperbole and denatured propaganda to support their position.

This case has been judged on ignorance, lies, and distortion, in the courtroom, media, and blogs. It proves, sadly, that mentality hasn’t changed since the Civil Rights Act passed, “hate and bigotry”, just changed parties.

Shouldn’t this be put in the ‘Editorial" section instead of the ’comics’ section? Do you think it’s funny? It’s not! Why all the emphasis on this kid? Yes, it’s sad and tragic, but there are a million stories even more sad and tragic. Look at Detroit, the kid who was killed in the Family Dollar store and the manager who was dragged out and shot in the head. The same thing – same store – in Florida. It’s all over the place. It seems like the media and some others, are trying to make the country divide and make things racial. The country needs to come together, not get torn apart by things like this cartoon. It only stirs the pot on angst.

I’m not sure whether to be relieved there are many Americans outraged by this and can understand the unfairness of this law (which is blatantly obvious to anyone outside the USA) or to be worried there actually are Americans like parkerfields, Gore Bane, howie, Kiser, Harley, mdavis,Mephistopholes, 4my10851cs, gmgodsil,antiquetracman, Billy Sargent & chalie555.

I agree with so many just strait murders out there with the black on black crime and black on white crime or the white crime where it is just plain murder why is this one getting so much pr. I remember when the national enquirer came out we would laugh at it because it told all the half stories now al the news is the same

Political cartoonists have always been given some leeway to exaggerate make a point, but not to tell a flat out lie. Why don’t you just portray Trayvon as a little baby? You guys should be ashamed of the way you make your living.

PAJ: the photo of his alleged injury was taken before he saw the P.A. to be treated. After being released, at the police station, it was clear in the video he didn’t even have a band aid on his head. The next day as he walked the scene for his defense video, he had to KNUCKLE BANDAGES on what were barely scratches, to make his injuries look worse.

Zimmerman IS a creep, and “wannabe”, who had a record, and did become a killer.

You’re right — he was created equal. But his lifetime of crappy decisions is all his and his alone. It was his determination to live a life of poor choices and thug behavior that got him dead. No one is to blame but Trayvon himself. Case closed.
