Even Texas is tiring of the big government nanny-state that is happening everywhere the GOP has control. Is this really what modern conservatism is? Banning birth control? Eliminating health care? Punishing the poor? Giving vast sums of taxpayer money to the already rich? Did you see that West Texas can’t even get funding to rebuild the schools that were destroyed in the fertilizer plant explosion? Sorry, kids. You’re on your own, show some initiative and educate yourself out on the streets. We wouldn’t want other people to pay for your tragedy.

Well, come on, lady! If you don’t give birth to the child, how can the governor of Texas brag about executing him 25 years from now to a standing ovation from a bunch of self-described “Christians”?

Compulsory pregnancy? Must also mean compulsory sex — without pre-conception birth control. Damn those sneaky old legislators!!

There certainly seems to be a paucity of reasoned comments on this subject but a superfluity of diatribe directed at those opposing their personal beliefs.

    Everything is bigger in Texas?
There was a story about this Texan touring Europe.
This is a bus station? In Texas it would be X10 as big!
This street would be at least 6 lanes wide.
The library would be at least X4-
etc etc and on and on.
Finally he pointed to a little building on the corner and said that in Texas it would be four stories tall and take up at least half the block!
“By the way, what is that building?”
“Home for retarded children!” answered his guide

I don’t suppose this “law” your so happy about actually address any of the numerous things that can go wrong which are fatal to the baby and/or mother in later stages does it? If it does did they offer anything more than “tough luck since it looks like a baby its more important than you” option?

The one FACT that never gets mentioned is since Pres Johnson EVERY repub pres during this time frame has grown the goverment larger than Dem Presidents during this same period. They say small government and then grow it. When I ask people why they vote Repub 99% of the time they say smaller gov. Do a little research you morons repubs grow the fed gov while saying the exact opposite. But for some reason many of you keep voting for the party that lies right to your face. Very interesting…

Just more proof that “conservatives” want government off your back and into your uterus, bedroom, and doctor’s offices.

Notice too that none of those wingnuts are volunteering to help pay to raise the babies they insist are so precious. This whole thing was just to further enrich Perry’s sister, who owns interests in the three clinics that are already in compliance with all the new requirements that will drive her competitors out of business.
