@MarkI think it was the daughter who dressed the bear (“the other thing”), but it does make him look like he ought to be able to talk (in a cartoon, at least).
My grandmother had a neighbor in the Colorado mountains who told us about the “polite” bear that would come onto their deck, remove the hummingbird feeder from its hook, drink the contents, then place the feeder carefully on the deck. The one that broke into their garage to get at the birdseed was not so polite, though.

In Yosemite and Sequoia, you can get a ticket for feeding the bears if you leave food in your car and the bears break in.
