Well, let’s see. When I was 58 I bought my first house. At 59 I rebuilt my patio roof, at 60 I built a shed from scratch, then two more smaller sheds, then a bench for my patio, then a wooden fence between my yard and the neighbor’s, then a pergola out front with jasmine on a lattice, then a raised planter using retaining wall blocks, then a 2 1/2 ft high x 70 ft long retaining fence along the back property line and spread about 6 cu.yds. of dirt to level the back yard. Currently I am building another raised planter out of the same kind of blocks in the front yard. I hope to be ready to order 3-4 cu. yds of good planter dirt and start transplanting my 30-year-old roses into it sometime next week. Who needs a mountain when they can play house!! (p.s. I’m a 69 year-old woman with arthritis and a bad back, but I’m having too much fun to let any of that slow me down)

Baby steps. Stain the deck, then climb the hill down the street. That way you wont be too far from the coffee shop..

Lara’s thinking they might as well be practical about this.

And now, he breaks into song from the Sound of Music… “Climb every mountain… ford every stream… follow every rainbow… ’til you find your dream…..!!!!!”

Doing housework is safer then trying to climb a mountain.

If he slips while climbing the mountain, he could end up “staining the deck”—red!
