I have yet to hear an argument against immigration reform that doesn’t boil down to “I hate immigrants.” The reform bill reduces the deficit substantially. It puts social security and welfare on a more sound footing. It helps business, it helps the economy, it helps tax collection, it helps agriculture, it helps wages, it helps end worker abuse and exploitation. We can’t possibly deport 11 million people, and forcing them to live in the shadows causes huge problems to America as a society, and is cruel to them and breaks apart families. But the GOP base just plain doesn’t like those people, so they must be made to suffer. It’s sad and cruel.
Want to become a citizen? go back, and come in legally. Make the process to do so easier. But coming here illegally should not be rewarded with citizenship. We have enough starving and unemployed people that we don’t need more from other countries.
^ Actually, I have been in a Walmart about four times and spent about $25 total. Thye closest one is about 10 miles away and I don’t find their merchandise or prices to be anything special. -Are you saying that Walmart hires illegals? I have no idea whether that’s true, but I have no reason not to believe it, as it is consistent with what I’ve read about their practices.-But if Walmart hires significant numbers of illegals and you know about it, isn’t it logical to believe that Jan Brewer knows about it as well? Wouldn’t every Republican governor and legislator know that as well? Not to mention the ‘journalists’ at Fox “news”.-Put another way, if it’s common knowledge that Walmart hires illegals, why are there NO Republicans/Fox “news” viewers trying to get them to stop?

But all businesses are free to hire illegals as much as they want.

“So the Republicans are building the great fence out of love?”.I didn’t say that, Radish, but I certainly don’t think it’s due to hate.
