Ooh! An “Obama is a Muslim” birther! If you have a better idea of what to do in Egypt, I’d love to hear it. And if you’re wondering what we are getting for all the money we give to Egypt, do you like that Israel still exists? Then don’t whine about the price tag. It’s cheap compared to the crap we spend money on elsewhere.
I don’t know why people see this as a bad move. He was becoming a weird blend of dictator and puppet for terrorists. He’s not the kind of person they wanted to rebuild their country.
Nasser, Mubarak, backed by military, and our “buddies”. Sadat, a man of wisdom who sought peace in the MIddle East, assassinated by disgruntled “military types”.
From Carthage to Persia, north to Greece, the “birthplace” of human civilization has been a place of turmoil and war, so, what IS “civilization”?
It is enlightening that today’s “conservatives” and “deeply religious”, are satisfied with, or actually encouraging the destruction of the region, because of either ignorance, or a mythology based on ignorance, and violence. (WHAT is more “violent”, than the destruction of all humanity, and civilization, in a war called “Armageddon”?)
‘Why are we even BOTHERING with these people?’-I think there may be some of our national interest there, seeing as how Egypt borders Israel, not to mention the Suez Canal being strategic and all.
